Macheda Happy to Be Back At “Best Club in the World”
Federico Macheda scored twice for Manchester United in our 4-1 win over New England Revolution last night, and after the game expressed his relief at being back at Old Trafford following his less than successful loan spell at Sampdoria towards the end of last season. He was speaking after the game;
“I have realised that Manchester United are the best club in the world”.
With competition for places up front fierce, Kiko’s brace won’t guarantee him a look-in come the start of the season, but he is certainly ahead of Mame Biram Diouf in the pecking order and will be vying with Owen and Welbeck for the role of fourth striker.
Sir Alex was certainly full of praise for the Italian, still just 19.
“You saw Macheda’s finishes today. They were first class”.
Whilst Aston Villa probably think he’s the best player in the world, Kiko has struggled to make a consistent impact for United, and if any benefit will come from his failed loan spell at Sampdoria then it will be in terms of improved attitude. Perhaps the penny has finally dropped for the talented forward. This could be a huge season for him.
